Easy Peasy Dishcloth
This is a fun dishcloth pattern that is approachable for beginners! It uses the lemon peel stitch, which is just a combination of double crochet and single crochet. There is a half double crochet border just to tidy up the edges!
What you need:
65 yards of worsted weight (4) cotton yarn. I used Plymouth Fantasy Natural or Peaches and Cream
5 mm (H) crochet hook
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Stitches to know:
Chain (ch)
Double Crochet (dc)
Single Crochet (sc)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Row 1: Ch 33. sc into the second chain from the hook. dc into the next chain. Continue alternating sc and dc until you reach the end. The last stitch should be a double crochet.
Row 2: Ch 1 and turn your work. sc then dc across until you reach the end. Your last stitch will be a double crochet.
Row 3 – 18: Repeat row 2 to until you get to row 20.
Border: Ch 2 and turn your work. hdc to the end of the row. hdc twice in the last stitch and turn your work 90 degrees. hdc down the side of the dishcloth evenly. hdc twice in the corner. Turn your work 90 degrees and half double crochet down the side evenly, putting two hdc in the corner. Turn and repeat for the last side. Join to the first stitch with a slip stitch.
Tie off your yarn and weave in your ends.
